The Securities and Exchange Commission has adopted rules requiring publicly traded to disclose material cybersecurity incidents.

Controversial new Securities and Exchange Commission rules that will take effect Aug. 26 are designed to create consistency to cybersecurity-elated disclosures, said SEC Chair Gary Gensler — but one aspect of the mandate has some area experts concerned.
